5 Ways I’ve Been Trying To Take Care of My Postpartum Body

10 months ago I experienced the most traumatic and incredible moment of my life: I gave birth to my son via C-section. Before giving birth, I refused to even look up C-sections because I proclaimed that I wouldn’t be having one. And I definitely wasn’t gonna look it up after having one…

So I have no idea what happened to my body, but I imagine there was a reason why they put a big sheet up so I couldn’t see. All I know is after 9 months of pregnancy + a C-section, my body is WRECKED.

It’s like a combination of feeling like jello but also like I got hit by a train.

5 Ways I’ve Been Trying To Take Care of My Postpartum Body:

  1. Getting Outside

I like to go for walks at local parks - I’ll invite a friend which allows me to be active as well as catch up with someone.

  2. Light Postpartum YouTube Exercises

  3. Hydrate

  4. Wear Tennis Shoes or Slippers/House Shoes at Home

    • Wearing shoes or these LL Bean slippers (anything with a hard sole) has actually helped me be more active as opposed to just sitting down which is typically what I’d do with all the aches and pains. If you get them, size up one if you have wide feet

  5. Listening To My Body When It Says It Needs To Rest

I’ve accepted this is my new body, but these small things have been helping.
